Femme Ersatz investigates the construction of feminine identity within a culture shaped by mediated ideals. Through manipulated mannequin forms and digitally rendered portraiture, the series examines how the female body is manufactured, measured, and standardized within systems of visual consumption.
The work resists spectacle, focusing instead on repetition and normalization — the quiet processes through which self-modification becomes habitual and identity itself becomes a constructed surface.
Rather than depicting rupture, the images suggest endurance: the perpetual maintenance of the self in pursuit of an unattainable ideal.
