Femme Ersatz investigates the construction of feminine identity within a culture shaped by mediated ideals. Using mannequin forms as proxies, the series examines how the female body is manufactured, measured, and standardized into ideal forms of visual consumption.
The work focuses less on spectacle and instead enlists repetition and normalization, quiet processes through which self-modification becomes habitual and reinforced on social media.
Rather than depicting collapse, the images suggest endurance: the continual perfecting of the self in pursuit of an unattainable ideal.
